Kerosene Creek

In the beginning of March before all of this COVID madness a group of us decided to go to Kerosene Creek, a gorgeous natural hot spring about an hour outside of Te Puke.

Believe it or not, I had never been to natural hot springs before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We walked down a short dirt path that later revealed this gorgeous hot spring. To be honest, I didn’t believe it was hot so I had the others enter before me. Of course, the water was unbelievably warm, my official paradise… the hotter the better for me. What’s interesting about the hot springs is that it literally looks like normal water until you enter. Once you go in you can see the steam rising from the water. I highly recommend if you have some tight muscles or if you are looking to take a couple of hours to relax.

PRO TIP: Make sure you wear a bathing suit you don’t care about. I made this mistake and wore a white swimsuit. BAD IDEA. The water turns the swimsuit a different color because of its particles.

Kerosene Creek is definitely a must see if you are in the Te Puke area of New Zealand.
